An example of the type of specialist design and manufacturing I undertake. I was approached by the British Federation of Women Graduates (formally the British Federation of University Women) to replace their medal of office which had been stolen. The only image they could provide me with was one of a Past President wearing the medal which did not give me much detail of the actual piece but combined with watercolour images of the arms enabled me to sketch how I thought the missing medal was proportioned.
I then glued the black and white picture to a sheet of 5mm thick silver, drilled then saw-pierced out the ground. Next, I had to make as a separate component, a silver shield to have applied two 9ct gold rams and the Book of Knowledge.
After hallmarking, assembly and engraving the medal was now finished and off to the House of Lords to be presented.
